From the Christians point of view to be converted or to accept Yahusha Hamashiach (whom they called Jesus Christ) a person must go to the front of the altar so the pastor can pray over him or her and he or she must repeat the sinner's prayer. The congregation would welcome that individual to the Kingdom of Yahuah (God). Some churches even provide that person with a Bible. Some you have to become a member, and some don't require you to become a member. The congregation or pastor will encourage that person to continue to attend church and get involved in church. Some pastors even go further and tell that person after they accept him if they were to die that night they would go to heaven. As someone who grew up in the church, I don't recall it being done any other way. Revelation 12:9 "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceived the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him?"
Note: for those of you who don't have the Cepher Bible I highly recommend that you buy the Apocrypha book because it has some of the missing books that are not in your regular Bible.
Now, I'm going to show you the Bible way how to be converted. I need you for one minute to focus on me. So, the question is what converts a person? Or how does person Accept Yahusha Hamashiach (Jesus Christ)? Matthew 3:2 "And saying, Repent ye: for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand." Was John the Baptist telling the people to come so he could pray and for them to repeat the sinner's prayer? What does this verse mean to you? What does it mean to repent? Let's go to Acts 3:19 "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of YAHUAH (God)." Paul says here to repent and be converted that your sins may be blotted out. Will the sinner's prayer blot out your sins? Think about it for a minute.
How to repent and be converted let's go to Ecclesiasticus 19:18-19 "The fear of Yahuah is the first step to be accepted of him, and wisdom obtains his love. The knowledge of the commandments of YAHUAH is the doctrine of life: and they that do things that please him shall receive the fruit of the tree of Immortality." Wait a minute, the fear of Yahuah is the first step to be accepted of him. Another word, it's not repeating the sinner's prayer. Do you see the difference? Going to the altar to have a pastor pray over you and repeat the sinner's prayer is not part of the process. 1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of YAHUAH (God): because many false prophets are gone out into the world." We need to have the spirit of discernment because without it will be difficult to see the difference between the truth and lie. Real or the Matrix.
The idea of going to the altar and repeat the sinner's prayer is not in the Bible. It is baseless and manmade doctrine. What you should have been taught is to fear YAHUAH (God) and keep his Commandments. Now, the reason it's not explained to you is that most of the pastors don't have the fear for YAHUAH or keeping his commandments. Because had it was the case pastors wouldn't tell you the law is done away with; they would observe the Sabbath, they wouldn't celebrate Pagans holidays like Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Valentines, Halloween, and so on. The definition of Convert: Cause to change in form, character, or function. Explain to me how you say that you are converted, and you're still worshiping the Pagans' god? How are you still part of the world and you say you repented? What did you repent or converted from? James 4:4 "You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world means enmity against YAHUAH (God)? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of YAHUAH."
What converts a person? Let's go to Psalms 19:7 "The law of YAHUAH is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of YAHUAH is sure making wise the simple." So, what converts you is not the sinner's prayer, but it is the law of YAHUAH. As it says in Ecclesiasticus 19 the process to be converted first, you must have fear for YAHUAH than you have to keep his law, the commandments. His commandment is what changing you into becoming that new creature. 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Hamashiach (Christ), he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." They that do things that please him shall receive the fruit of the tree of Immortality. How do you please him is by keeping his commandments. Romans 7: 12- "Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good."
Let see some of the laws in Romans 8:9 "For this, Thou shall not commit adultery, thou shall not kill, thou shall not steal, though shall not bear false witness, thou shall not covet; and if there be any other commandments, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself." When you repent and be converted these laws, you should keep.
Here is another Exodus 20:8-11 "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work. But the seventh day is the Sabbath of YAHUAH thy ELOHYIM: in it, thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy Stranger that is within thy gates. For in six days YAHUAH made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore YAHUAH blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it."
Proverbs 4: 1-2 "Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law."
Ecclesiastes 12:13 - "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear Yah, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For Yah shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."
